A Conference of a Lifetime

“Caribbean Women’s Conference”.  Those were the buzz words in the air for weeks, as women from all over the Caribbean sought to secure their spot in the first ever conference of its kind.  Delegates stretching from Suriname to the USA, united under the theme “Celebrating Life in Christ.”  Excitement, anticipation and a Spirit of Expectancy hovered, as the days of April 24th to 28th drew near for the start of what was expected to be a power-packed, anointed time with the uncompromised Word of God.  Delegates began pouring in on Sunday evening in a steady stream up until Thursday.  The local host church – New Testament Church of God International Worship Centre, saw registration of over 250 Delegates.  Everyday throughout the week, individuals did not pass on the opportunity to try their best to secure their spot for the Conference.  Registration began on Wednesday morning with a swarm of persons. Daily Devotions were held, led by Delegates from various Caribbean islands. The teaching aspects began with Rev. Diana Persaud of Guyana, followed by Sis. Fletcher of Grenada, Sis. Yvonne Blair (Jamaica & Cayman), Sis. Linda Lee Hepburn of St. Kitts, Dr. Shanda Duncan of Bermuda and Sis. Veronica Eversely of Barbados.  A powerful ministry of prayer preceded the three nights of awesome praise and worship. Thursday evening was dedicated to the Hispanic Community with praise, worship and the Word in their native dialect.  Sis. Joycelyn Ricketts of Virgin Gorda was scheduled to bring the Word on Wednesday, but a shifting of the Holy Spirit led her to share her personal testimony which turned the tides on the whole atmosphere. Evangelist Eva Palmer of the Dominican Republic preached on Thursday while Lady Patricia Charles, the Caribbean Women’s Director ministered on Friday.  Declaring that a change HAS come to the Caribbean, women lined the aisle to be anointed and prayed for .  Women of all walks of life were encouraged, empowered, reminded and admonished that they MUST rise and take their place as strong Daughters of The Most High God. They were to shine throughout the Caribbean and beyond as the diamonds that they are, letting the World know that they are here to take back their rightful possessions and places in The Kingdom of God.  World Mission’s Director, Dr. Timothy Hill declared the Word on Sunday morning.  Indeed, every person who attended the Caribbean Women’s Conference 2013, no doubt left renewed and strengthened and realized that one should never underestimate the power of a woman.
